Will climate change cause migration?

Many people are predicting a coming wave of refugees fleeing the effects of climate change, but Robert McLeman, a geographer at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, notes that severe weather and climate already are causing people to relocate. "New Orleans has still not regained the population it had before Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and not everyone will stay to rebuild their lives in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan," he said.
