Wis. students run businesses for Valentine's Day fundraiser

Third-grade students in Stevens Point, Wis., have requested a loan from their elementary school's parent-teacher organization to create Valentine's Day products to sell in the school store. The students will use proceeds from their businesses to pay back the loan and purchase books for kindergarten students attending two schools. "I try to keep (the project) as real-world as possible," said teacher Jodi Tuskowski, who said the lesson includes persuasive writing, public speaking, mathematics, social studies plus business.
