AHA casts doubt on soy health claims

Soy-based food products and supplements may not ward off heart disease or control cholesterol as effectively as some earlier studies indicated, an American Heart Association committee said. The group also said neither soy nor isoflavone reduced menopause symptoms or guarded against breast, uterine or prostate cancer.
