Western diet ups risk of metabolic syndrome

Red meat, fried foods, refined grains and other staples of the Western diet have been confirmed in a new study as factors that increase the risk for metabolic syndrome by up to 18%. The study also found that eating dairy was associated with a lower risk of developing metabolic syndrome.
