Social marketing is all about conversations and, as author Dave Evans points out in his book, "Social Media Marketing An Hour a Day," if you aren't engaging the conversations about your company or product that already are happening, you're missing out. When positive conversations are being missed and negative conversations go without a response, Evans notes, "the result is a slower product or service evolution cycle than what [might] be available if these same resources were tapped, and that translates directly into a competitive disadvantage. In these times, who can afford that?"
