FDA OKs human study of therapy from embryonic stem cells

Geron Corp. obtained FDA approval to conduct a human trial to test the safety of a treatment derived from embryonic stem cells. The therapy is for patients with spinal cord damage. The study is set to involve as many as 10 paralyzed patients who will undergo at least one year of clinical observation.
