National Board Certification helps recruit, retain quality teachers

Washington state's new schools chief, Randy Dorn, says one of the best ways to recruit and retain high-quality teachers is to encourage teachers to seek National Board Certification. Teachers in Washington receive a $5,000 bonus when they earn certification, and another $5,000 for teaching in a school with a large number of students living in poverty.
