CFPB and FTC plan to coordinate efforts

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission announced that they have agreed to coordinate their efforts related to rule-making and enforcement. "Entering this agreement with the FTC is important to making sure markets for consumer financial products are getting efficient and effective federal government oversight," said CFPB Director Richard Cordray. The move is intended to avoid burdening companies with overlapping rules.
