Chemicals for water treatment continue to be in demand

The continued demand for water treatment for industrial, agriculture and drinking uses means that the market for specialty chemicals will grow rapidly, say companies including Dow Chemical, Nalco and BASF. "We're being asked to optimize performance. We find that we are bringing to bear chemistry blended increasingly with more sophisticated equipment and analytical capability," says Paul Raymond, president of Ashland's water business.
