Construction employment at $1B Fla. power plant to rise to 650

The number of construction workers building Florida Power & Light Co.'s $1.1 billion power plant in Port St. John, Fla., is set to rise from the current 520 to 650 by April as crews start to erect the building. Work started last March and is expected to be complete by next fall. The Cape Canaveral Next Generation Clean Energy Center plant will produce 50% less carbon dioxide emissions than the plant it replaces and will produce 90% less total emissions into the air.
