Physicians divided on practice of e-mailing patients

The practice of e-mailing patients has physicians divided, but Dr. Joseph Kvedar of the Center for Connected Health in Boston supports it, saying concerns over privacy are overblown and e-mail can lead to better communications and relationships between doctors and patients. Dr. Sam Bierstock of Champions in Healthcare says anything more important than prescription refills and appointments should be discussed in a physician's office.
