Study touts simple exercise of walking during TV commercials

People who walked in place during television commercials burned an average of 148 calories for each 25 minutes of activity, compared with 304 calories burned in one hour on a treadmill, according to a small study in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. Researchers from the University of Tennessee said commercials are a good environmental cue to exercise and can help make small changes in a sedentary person's lifestyle.
