Certified nurse coaches can help people prevent, manage disease

Nurses can now be trained and certified as a health coach, which can improve their ability to help patients make behavioral changes that prevent or manage chronic disease. Barbara Dossey, co-director of the International Nurse Coach Association and co-author of the ANA book "The Art and Science of Nurse Coaching," said people know they have to eat healthy and exercise, and nurse coaches can help them make the change.
