Coach reported slower holidays and a 2% drop in same-store sales in North America, driven by growing competition in the designer bag market that fueled deeper discounting. The luxury brand has a plan to kick things back into growth mode, starting with a relaunch of 170 in-store shoe departments and expanding the strategy to include men's and women's apparel, watches and jewelry, the company said.
