How the Web is influencing the paper edition of the NYT

Beginning with Tuesday's "Science Times" section, The New York Times is unveiling a redesign day by day this week. The changes reflect the paper's online innovations, featuring Web native content and other design aspects with their roots in news websites. The new look, the first overhaul since the 1970s, is intended to retain the look of the Times and "not meant to shake anybody up," said design director Tom Bodkin.
