Students say celiac disease means a different social life

College students say adopting a gluten-free diet to treat celiac disease puts a dent in their social lives. While more restaurants now offer gluten-free menus, Lehigh University senior Tabitha Echavarria said her solution is to prepare a gluten-free meal for herself at home and then tag along to dinner with friends, which makes the experience more about the people than the food.
