The biggest mistake that HR pros make when screening résumés is that they try to find reasons not to interview candidates instead of trying to find reasons to learn more about them, author Carolyn Thompson says. "It doesn't take that much effort to get someone on a Webcam, or to get someone on the phone to ask them a couple of quick questions to determine if you want to bring them in," Thompson says.
