Care managers improve outcomes for diabetes patients

Care managers who were typically nurses were preferred by patients and clinicians, and care management was linked with improved outcomes for patients, according to a study by researchers at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. "Practitioners and patients both preferred embedded nurse care managers that were typically a nurse in order to focus wholly on the patient and their medial needs," researcher Dr. Robert Gabbay said.
