N.C. district holds curriculum conference for educators

Educators in a school district in North Carolina recently gathered for the district's first curriculum conference, where they learned about the Common Core State Standards and other topics such as social media in education. "We want to create a rigorous environment for our students," chief academic adviser Denise Patterson said. "All of our curriculum is based on Common Core, and if any of the teachers have been to a conference, we asked them to present," Patterson added.
