The U.S. hotel industry broke records in 2013 and posted the highest number of rooms available, rooms sold and rooms revenue, according to STR data. Occupancy rose 1.5% to 62.3% in 2013, according to STR data. Meanwhile, the average daily rate was up 3.9% to $110.35.
