Viacom creates Velocity unit for branded content

Viacom has formed a Viacom Velocity division that will focus on branded content for the TV networks in the Viacom family, excluding Nickelodeon. The unit will create branded content and show integrations, and its social media strategy will target the entire portfolio instead of just single channels. Neils Schuurmans will lead the content side, while Dario Spina will be the leader of integrated marketing. "At the heart of all of this was the thought of bringing a marketing or content discussion [to] the fore," Spina said.
