W.Va. teacher uses Facebook to keep students learning on snow days

A first-grade teacher in West Virginia is using social media to give her students assignments following a string of days in which schools were closed due to weather and water issues. Debbie Crawford said she used parents' Facebook pages to provide "bonus" assignments to her students, including one in which they measure snow three times. Students who complete the Facebook assignments will be eligible for prizes when they return to school.
