Many scientists bristle at intelligent design

The well-funded Discovery Institute in Seattle is leading the charge to get intelligent design, the belief that a higher power must have created the universe, included in schools' science curricula. Although I.D. proponents call evolution "just a theory," the vast majority of mainstream scientists contend evolution is an accepted concept that has withstood the test of time.
