Drug allows users to fight addiction in privacy

The drug buprenorphine is allowing a number of Americans to battle addictions to painkillers and heroin without having to go to clinics for methadone, the only other drug used to treat opioid addiction. Since buprenorphine can be filled by a prescription and taken at home, experts say it is much more effective in helping with addictions than methadone.
