"Rubblizers" pound the pavement around the world

"Rubblizers," which grind up old highway concrete, compact it and then pave over the new base with asphalt concrete, are gaining in popularity around the world. Projects that have used the system include the Illinois Tollway, which just finished a 31-mile improvement project along Interstate 88, in which a four-lane highway was rubblized and repaved.
