Liver transplant patient switches blood type

Transplant doctors say a 9-year-old patient who received a liver transplant changed blood types after her surgery. Stem cells from the transplanted liver migrated to her bone marrow and most of her immune system has switched over to the blood type of the donor. Doctors are now trying to determine whether the outcome can be replicated in other patients.
