7 California kit foxes die from canine distemper

Seven desert kit foxes found at a solar project near California's Coachella Valley died as a result of canine distemper during the past two months, the first documented instances of the disease among wild desert kit foxes. "Although we do not know if this outbreak was started by an infected domestic animal, it is important for people to vaccinate their pets regularly," said Fish and Game wildlife veterinarian Deana Clifford.
