Algae, insects and artificial meat grown in a laboratory are being touted as a diet of the future as the world population continues to soar, farming becomes more difficult, the oceans are overfished and water is in increasingly short supply. New crops -- such as a so-called "green super rice" -- surely will be part of the equation, too.
