A survey of school nutrition professionals in Chicago Public Schools found many students are not eating the healthy food provided under the district's new lunch standards. Chicago adopted healthier lunch standards ahead of the national guidelines announced Wednesday. The workers' union has presented a plan that would give them more input in food served at school, additional training, and protection if they discuss the food with students and parents. The workers also are seeking working kitchens in all newly built schools and more fresh food.
