BASF, Wacker to help boost li-ion battery capacity

BASF and Wacker Chemical are among the companies collaborating on a $43 million project seeking to double the capacity of lithium-ion automotive batteries over three years. The initiative is partly funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and is being carried out under the country's National Platform for Electric Mobility.
