Big Oil's anti-ethanol push would hurt Neb.'s economy, exec says

Policies promoting ethanol production and use such as the Renewable Fuel Standard have added billions of dollars to Nebraska's economy, said Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller and Hightower Report President David Hightower at a conference in Grand Island, Neb. However, the oil industry is ramping up efforts to dismantle the RFS and curb the growth of homegrown biofuels, Sneller said. "They are now trying to unravel a national public policy, which had really been designed not only to improve air quality by burning clean burning fuels, but helps the energy-security goals and helps support the economic goals we have," Sneller said.
