Coalition urges HHS to keep essential health benefits affordable

The Essential Health Benefits Coalition, whose members include NADP, has urged HHS to keep affordability for small businesses in mind when setting essential health benefits. “We think the administration in its final rule should focus on allowing more private-sector strategies to achieve greater benefit value and affordability and again avoid including benefits that are not commonly offered today,” said coalition Chairman Neil Trautwein. “If they're not commonly offered today, there's a reason and a rationale why they're not offered.” The final rule is expected within the first quarter.
