With the wireless industry buzzing about the coming rollout of iPhones, which are expected to sell for $499 and $599 for 4GB and 8GB versions respectively, iSuppli took a look at how much it costs Apple to make the gadgets. Relying on data gathered from component manufacturers, published price sheets, and industry insider information, the market research firm estimates it costs $230 to make the 4GB version and $265 to make the 8GB version.
