Thailand to break patents on two drugs

Thailand announced it would issue compulsory licenses for production of generic versions of two patented drugs. The government did not say which drugs were involved, but news reports indicated they were Abbott's HIV/AIDS drug Kaletra and the heart drug Plavix, marketed by Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
