Architect: Eco-villages are incompatible with sustainability

So-called eco-villages are incompatible with the "principle of public space," a vital component of sustainable urban development, according to Austrian architect and urban consultant Johannes Fiedler. In this respect, they are no different from gated communities or housing projects, he argues.
