Chevron project eyes production boost at Kazakh field

A Chevron-led venture in Kazakhstan seeks to spend about $15.2 billion to raise oil production at the Tengiz field, KazMunaiGaz National said. The companies target production of 36.4 million metric tons in the field annually after 2016, KazMunaiGaz CEO Kairgeldy Kabyldin said. Chevron controls 50% of the venture, while ExxonMobil, KazMunaiGaz and Lukarco hold the remaining shares.
