Iowa's ethanol sector seeks statewide 10% mandate

Iowa's ethanol sector is urging legislators to require that all motor gasoline sold in the state contain at least 10% ethanol. Iowa has no ethanol mandate despite being the country's top producer with about 3.2 billion gallons last year. The share of ethanol-blended fuel sold in Iowa has remained at about 75% while the national average is 80%, said Monte Shaw, an executive at the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association.
