Minneapolis nonprofit develops pediatric medical devices

Bradley Slaker, a mechanical engineer, set up the nonprofit firm DesignWise Medical, which seeks help from college students, retirees and other volunteers to design medical devices for children. One of the pediatric devices developed by the company is the Overnight Pediatric Oxygen Delivery system, a tentlike device that uses oxygen-delivery nozzles that adapt to sleep patterns of pediatric patients.
