Survey: U.K. property values to gain little ground this year

A survey of leading U.K. commercial property executives conducted by Reita, which educates and promotes U.K. REITs, finds less than one in 20 U.K. commercial property experts expect a solid recovery in asset values this year -- especially for properties in secondary markets. "Rental values outside the prime areas will continue to slide and banks will carry on being highly selective in their lending activities as they work to shore up their balance sheets," says Patrick Sumner, chairman of Reita and head of property equities at Henderson Global Investors.
