Talks proceed on extension of Chevron, Shell licenses in Nigeria

Negotiations are ongoing on to renew the expired oil licenses of Chevron and Royal Dutch Shell in Nigeria, Petroleum Minister of State Odein Ajumogobia said. The licenses for Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell expired last year, raising concern they would not be extended. Exxon's Nigerian subsidiary was the first to have its license renewed, forging an agreement in November.
