EHR use may bolster type 2 diabetes care

Incorporating electronic health records in primary care may help type 2 diabetes patients attain significant improvements in diastolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure, aspirin prescription and nonsmoking status, a Texas study found. However, EHR use did not appear to show benefits for A1C or LDL cholesterol levels. The findings appear in the journal Health Services Research.
