High-fructose diet raises diabetes, CVD risk in youth

Data on 559 adolescents ages 14 to 18 showed those who consumed a lot of high-fructose corn syrup had higher blood pressure, fasting glucose and insulin resistance, suggesting that overconsumption of the sweetener may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The study was published in The Journal of Nutrition.
