Penney CEO shares details on new pricing strategy

J.C. Penney will mark down every item in its stores by at least 40% and roll out a three-tiered pricing strategy that includes everyday prices, month-long sale prices and final clearance prices, CEO Ron Johnson told analysts in his first public presentation as the chain's chief executive. The strategy aims to eliminate guesswork for shoppers and make pricing more predictable.
