Survey: Alaska, Boston are tops for bicycle, walking commutes

Alaska ranked first for states and Boston first for cities for having the most people who commute to work on bicycle or by walking, the Alliance for Biking & Walking reported in its 2012 survey. Alabama and Fort Worth, Texas, had the lowest rates, the report found, while overall the number of U.S. bicycle commuters increased by 57% from 2000 to 2009.
