Big Data privacy issues get attention from FTC, Senate committee

The ways that data brokers use consumer information have caught the attention of the Federal Trade Commission and the Senate Commerce Committee, Kenneth Corbin writes. "The power of Big Data is the ability to make inferences on, you know, reasonably fine-grained groups of people. And that's the very thing that causes the privacy violation as well," the FTC's Paul Ohm says.
