NTSB: Redundant safety systems did not work on 787

The National Transportation Safety Board has concluded that redundant safety systems on the Boeing Dreamliner 787 failed. "As far as design of the aircraft, there are multiple systems to protect against a battery event like this. Those systems did not work as intended," said NTSB Chairwoman Deborah Hersman.
