Report: Food, advertising firms team up to defend marketing rights

Food industry firms and trade groups representing the advertising industry have formed a new group, the Alliance for American Advertising, to promote existing self-regulation efforts regarding marketing directed at children and to defend their rights to advertise to kids, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. American Advertising Federation President Wally Snyder said the purpose of the Alliance, of which the AAF is a member, is to defend advertiser's First Amendment rights: "There have been all kinds of allegations," he said, "We just want to get the facts out there."
