Report: Clean energy could supply half the world demand by 2050

Renewable energy can deliver half the world's energy needs by 2050 if governments clamp down on the use of fossil fuels, says a report by the European Renewable Energy Council and Greenpeace. It predicts rises in oil prices will help contribute to a shift toward cleaner energy sources, such as wind, hydro, tidal power and biomass.
