Airbus A380 planes a growing challenge to LAX operations

As additional enormous Airbus A380 jetliners enter service, airport operations and other flights could be interrupted or delayed unless runways, taxiways and terminals are quickly improved, LAX officials warn. The aircraft already merits special treatment such as the closure of service roads and runways during its arrivals and departures and priority takeoff in bad weather because it can disturb the airport's instrument landing system.
