Alabama city works to keep Bush Hog in region

City officials are working with troubled manufacturer Bush Hog LLC to keep 600 jobs in Selma, Ala. The company, which produces brush cutters, zero-turn lawnmowers and utility vehicles, placed its workers on furlough on Jan. 5. "We've been working very closely with Bush Hog even to the point of bringing an investor to the table that might be interested in purchasing the company," said Wayne Vardaman, executive director of the Selma & Dallas County Economic Development Authority.
